The Stare Down

The Stare Down

Catching the thermals, it came across the lake soaring nary a wing beat overhead with a familiar “V” shaped wing pattern. Turkey Vultures! A joy to see them effortlessly glide higher and higher into the clouds.

  1. Details of wings in the light is beautiful and what a great scale!

  2. Gosh. They’re beautiful in flight.

  3. What a great capture! We have these same birds here. One type has the red head and another a black head. They are wonderful, though, cleaning up our environment! I see them soaring over the golf course most days but sometimes can’t tell if what I’m looking at is a vulture or a hawk. From a distance.

  4. No wonder I used to dream I was a bird, Rob, seriously (years ago). I’m sure a dream analyst would have a heyday with that, right?! :)

  5. a very good shot !

  6. What a cool shot Rob. Amazing job Rob!

  9. I can’t help but love them–their flight is so effortless. Excellent shot Rob–love the light
